Dear Jill
Just a quick 'Thank You' for organising a great Canberra Reunion 2012 which was most enjoyable especially meeting up with some of our good entertainers and friends.
Pity many others missed out as they were on holiday. Perhaps another outside the main summer season.
The venue on Bournemouth Pier Key West Restaurant was superb giving us a feeling we were on the cruise ship and with us all enjoying the wonderful sunshine on the open deck was perfect.
The Canberra Quiz Questions & the DJ added to the fun evening. Of course it was hard to answer all those questions though there were winners with 7 and 8 correct answers out of 15. I have added the Canberra Quiz Questions for others to have a go and next week I will post the answers obtained at the end of the quiz from Jill.
I cannot fail to comment that meeting up with Alan Warner & Dee & Paul Outen & Dawn made it special especially Alan keeping us in stitches talking of those great cruising days and all the fun and tricks we musicians enjoyed. Wish I recorded some of his jokes. Not forgetting to mention all the other good folks we met to include Christine First Lady Cruise Director on P&O's Luxuary cruise liners and now on the Arcadia, Dave Masters DJ, Chris and Ian besides many others.
It was a pity we missed the auction conducted by Paul Outen which was a great success as given to understand. raising £800. Well done.
I managed to take some photographs attached below and would appreciate if others can send me their photos which I would like to add to this blogspot.
I still have over 500 photographs of our good days to add when I can find time to scan them, and equally unlimited video clips of all the entertainment on the Canberra which will certainly bring back many good memories. This I will do in the very near future.
On behalf of my brother in law Alexander and my sister Anna, and my wife Betty, we once again wish to thank you for the well organised get-together which was greatly enjoyed by all.
As you have given me permission to copy your photos from Face Book which I will do, once released, appreciate if others will allow me to do the same or equally email me with your photos. My email is bennydesouza@btinternet,com
Best regards
