Thank you one and all for making Sunday 23rd August 2015 a great fun day at Benny & Betty's home. We started with some rain but the sun came out early afternoon where the fun began with all those great musicians playing and singing, and to have our super star Mark Read from A1 entertain was just very special not forgetting Mark's brother Colin whose entertainment with his singing and dancing kept us in stitches all day.
All the members from Black Velvet Band who cruised on P&O Luxuary cruise ships present at our home brought back memories of our great cruising days and that is why I have attached this blog page to our Cruising blog page.
Attached are some video clips. Sorry I was unable to link them all together due to a temporary software problem which I hope to rectify soon.
I think before long we will have to get together again for some more fun hopefully with some most musicians joining us.
We missed Mark Holmes and a few other musicians who could not attend as this party was organised at the last moment with the intention of all 'The Reads' and the 'De Souza's' meeting up with a few selected close friends and musicians connected with 'Black Velvet band'. Pity our son Winston and family were also not with us as they are still away on holiday.
We also missed Derrick and Dennis. (Their kind messages added below).
P.S. Follow this blog page in a few days to remind you of the big event scheduled for Saturday 3rd October 2015 when the famous 'NIGHT FEVER' group will be performing in London. Currently based in Toronto Canada where Dennis Santamaria was the drummer. I will add the link with details.
Thanks for all your lovely gifts, and once again to all of you who participated in singing, dancing and playing some instruments. It was really a fun day and always very special when we have the enterprising most talented 'Read' family present. They never cease to amaze.

Hello Ben,
We are so sorry to have missed the opportunity of
this get-together, which you and Betty organised. It would have been
absolutely lovely to have been amongst people, especially you family, we know
so well from our association going back many, many years. I
have just returned from Paris where I had to drop off my youngest daughter who
is working there as part of her degree.
Your life really does sound as it is as hectic
as it has ever been, but I guess it’s what keeps you enjoying what you have
always enjoyed – Music! The description of your new PA system sounds
awesome and the demo at your house must have been amazing.
Hopefully we will get another chance to meet with
you all sometime soon. In the meantime, my thanks again for thinking of
us. It was really nice of you to do so.
